Link Multiple Azure Sovereign Clouds

Link Multiple Azure Sovereign Clouds

This feature is only available in the Nerdio Manager Premium edition.

Nerdio Manager allows you to manage AVD deployments that span multiple Azure sovereign clouds. This includes Azure Global (Commercial), Azure US Government, and Azure China.

Tip: Before you start this procedure, be sure to complete all the steps in Link Azure Subscription Using App Credentials. You can't complete this procedure without performing the steps shown there and obtaining the required information.

To link an Azure sovereign cloud in Nerdio Manager:

  1. Navigate to SettingsAzure environment.

  2. In the Azure subscriptions tile, select Link using app credentials.

    • Azure cloud: From the drop-down list, select the Azure sovereign cloud.

    • Tenant ID: Type the Tenant ID.

    • Subscription ID: Type the Subscription ID of the subscription being linked.

    • Client app ID: Type the Client app ID of the service principal with access to the subscription being linked.

    • Client app secret: Type the Client app secret of the service principal with access to the subscription being linked.

  4. Once you have entered all the desired information, select OK.

The Azure sovereign cloud is linked and available to be used.

  5. In the Linked resource groups tile, select Link.

  6. Enter the following information:

    • Resource Group: From the drop-down list, select the resource group to link.

  7. Once you have entered all the desired information, select OK.

The resource group is linked and available to be used.

  8. In the Linked networks tile, select Link.

  9. Enter the following information:

    • Resource group: From the drop-down list, select the resource group to link.

    • Network: From the drop-down list, select the network.

    • Subnet: From the drop-down list, select the subnet.

  10. Once you have entered all the desired information, select OK.

The network is linked and available to be used.

Note: Once you have linked your subscription, resource group, and network, you are ready to use the Azure sovereign cloud for deployment.

For example, you linked to Azure Government. You can now add a dynamic host pool in the Azure Government workspace using the network and resource group that were just linked. That means the VMs that are created to serve as session hosts are going to be in the Azure Government sovereign cloud.
