Nerdio Manager Migration

Nerdio Manager Migration

The purpose of Nerdio Manager Migration is to allow customers who have existing environments the ability to migrate the Nerdio app service to another resource group, region, or subscription.

The webapp and associated resources can now be migrated to a new resource group or subscription, if required.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact Nerdio Support. When opening a support case, include "Nerdio Manager for Enterprise WebApp Migration" in the Subject line of your request.

Note: The Azure Key Vault may be migrated to a new resource group or a new subscription, but cannot be relocated to a new Azure region. Migrating the Azure Key Vault between regions is not mandatory, and there is no negative effects for Nerdio Manager if the Azure Key Vault remains in the original region. Azure Key Vaults are globally replicated and failover protection is included automatically. See this Microsoft article for more information.

Prerequisites

  • Nerdio Manager version needs to be 5.7 or greater.

  • The associated Azure Key Vault cannot be copied and must be manually moved via the Azure portal. Before you proceed, ensure you review the requirements outlined in this Microsoft article Moving an Azure Key Vault across resource groups that describes the process of migrating a key vault to a new resource group, subscription, or region. It is critical that you are familiar with the document and its requirements before reaching out to support. This will save time once they contact you.

  • This process does take some time. Be sure to set aside the appropriate amount of time needed to complete the migration.

Post Migration

  • This migration process is a copy not a move. This means that if for any reason the process fails, you can revert back to the original environment.

  • It is the customer's responsibility to ensure all features work as expected before manually deleting items from the source location.
