Configure Azure Monitor Insights

Azure Monitor Insights for AVD is a native monitoring technology for Windows Virtual Desktop deployments. See this Microsoft article for more information.

To configure Azure Monitor Insights:

  1. In the Azure portal, navigate to Log Analytics workspaces.

  2. Select the workspace you wish to use.

  3. On the left, in the General blade, select Workbooks.

  4. Select the workbook you wish to use.

  5. Select the Share this Workbook icon and copy the URL to the clipboard.

  6. In Nerdio Manager, navigate to SettingsIntegrations.

  7. In the Azure Monitor Insights tile, check the Current status.

  8. If the current status is Disabled, select Disabled to enable Azure Monitor Insights.

  9. Enter the following information:

    • Use Azure Monitor Insights: Toggle On this option.

    • Log Analytics Workspace: From the drop-down list, select the log analytics workspace you previously selected in the Azure portal.

    • Workbook Links:

      Note: Optionally, select Add to add additional workbook links.

      • Label: Type a short label for the workbook as you want it to appear in the Nerdio Manager navigation menu.

      • URL: Paste the workbook's URL from the clipboard.

    • Apply to Host Pools: From the drop-down list, select the host pool(s) the Azure Monitor Insights apply to.

    • Apply to existing hosts: Select this option to apply these changes to existing hosts. Otherwise, the change only effect new or re-imaged hosts.
      • Process hosts in groups of: Type the number of concurrent actions to execute during this bulk operation.

      • Number of failures before aborting: Type the number of failures that causes the process to stop.

      • Schedule: Toggle on the Schedule to apply the changes at a selected time.

        • Start Date: Type the date to start.
        • Time Zone: From the drop-down list, select the time zone for the Start time.

        • Start Time: From the drop-down lists, select the time to start.

        • Repeat: From the drop-down list, select the recurring schedule, if desired.

          Note: The drop-down has the option After Patch Tuesday. This allows you to create a recurring schedule based on Patch Tuesday.

          • Days After: If you selected After Patch Tuesday, type the number of days after Patch Tuesday to run the scheduled task.

  10. Once you have entered all the desired information, select OK.
