Nerdio Advisor: CO2 Report

Nerdio Advisor: CO2 Report

The Nerdio Manager AVD Modeler includes features designed to show the environmental impact of utilizing Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) with Nerdio Manager. This initiative aims to educate administrators and mangers on their environment’s contributions to CO2 emissions reduction, coal consumption decrease, and equivalent tree savings. By integrating this feature into the AVD Modeler, customers can access tailored reports showcasing the environmental benefits of their configurations.

Note: We calculate data for each host pool and display the total at the modeler level. However, we depend on data from Microsoft and VM manufacturers. When the data is missing, we do not calculate CO2.

CO2 Report Feature Details

The CO2 Dashboard feature is integrated directly into the AVD Modeler, ensuring seamless access for users. It collects data about the user's AVD and Nerdio Manager configurations, focusing on aspects that contribute to energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact. Based on the collected data, this feature generates a report detailing the reductions in CO2 emissions, coal power usage, and the equivalent number of trees saved due to the user's current configuration. The report is made available within the AVD Modeler, allowing users to easily access and understand the environmental impact of their configurations.

Feature Limitations

The CO2 report uses historical data and information provided by Microsoft, AMD, and Intel to identify the reduction in CO2 emission driven by implementing Nerdio Manager and AVD. Please see the References section below for more information.
