NME entitlements consumption and billing

NME entitlements consumption and billing

Nerdio Manager for Enterprise (NME) entitlements consumption and billing is based on actual user activity or user device assignment in a calendar month. Each unique user (identified by their Entra ID) is billed for only one NME entitlement per calendar month, based on the highest NME entitlement consumed.

NME entitlement hierarchy (highest to lowest)

  • AVD (Core or Premium)

  • Windows 365

  • UEM

If a user consumes multiple entitlements in the same calendar month, only the highest entitlement is billed.

Monthly Billing Rules

  • Billing is based on calendar months (e.g., June 1 – June 30), not rolling 30-day periods.

  • Usage is tracked per unique Entra ID user.

  • A user only consumes an entitlement if the associated device is under management by Nerdio:

  • AVD session host

  • Windows 365 Cloud PC

  • Physical endpoint

  • For AVD, entitlement consumption is based on session access.

  • For Windows 365 and physical endpoints, entitlement consumption is based on device assignment as the Intune Primary User.

If your organization has a custom licensing or billing agreement with Nerdio, please refer to the terms outlined in your agreement or contact your Nerdio representative for details.

Invoicing

Azure Marketplace Customers

NME invoicing is handled via the Azure Marketplace. You will not receive an invoice from Nerdio directly. NME charges are included in your Azure Marketplace invoice you receive on a monthly basis.

Note: Are you an organization with an Enterprise Agreement with Microsoft? You will still receive a monthly charge for NME consumption. Please see these FAQs from Microsoft for further information.

Nerdio Partner Customers

NME invoicing may vary based on arrangements made with the partner. Typically, you will receive an invoice from your partner directly. In some cases, invoicing is still handled via the Azure Marketplace. Please contact your partner for more details.
