Manage Capacity Reservations Groups
Nerdio Manager allows you to create Capacity Reservations Groups.
On-demand Capacity Reservations Groups enables you to reserve Compute capacity in an Azure Region or an Availability Zone for any duration of time. See this Microsoft article for more information.
The typical workflow is as follows:
Link the required Capacity Reservation Group(s) as shown below.
In host pool properties> VM Deployment, select one or more linked groups. See Host Pool VM Deployment for details.
When creating or re-imaging VMs, Nerdio Manager selects one of the suitable groups.
Some important notes:
The VM and Capacity Reservations Groups both must be in the same Azure Region and Availability Zones.
Reservation was purchased for a specific VM size, regardless of free capacity in it.
When creating multiple VMs at the same time, Nerdio Manager fills the first Capacity Reservations Group in the list as much as possible. Then all the subsequent Capacity Reservations Groups are filled.
To link capacity reservations groups:
Navigate to Settings > Azure environment.
In the Linked capacity reservation groups tile, select Link.
-
Enter the following information:
Capacity Reservations Groups: From the drop-down list, select the capacity reservations group(s) to link.
-
Once you have entered the desired information, select Link.
Note: Select unlink to unlink a linked capacity reservations group.
