Manage host pool resource locks

Nerdio Manager allows you to place resource locks on your host pools in order to prevent accidental deletion.

Note: This feature uses the native functionality of Azure and the Azure Resource Locks feature. For details, see Lock your Azure resources to protect your infrastructure.

Create a host pool lock

Nerdio Manager allows you to place resource locks on a virtual machine to prevent accidental deletion.

To create a lock for a host pool resource:

  1. Navigate to Workspaces, and select the workspace you want to work with.

  2. Select the host pool you want to work with.

  3. Locate the session host you want to lock, and select from the following:

    • Classic UI: From the action menu, select Lock.

    • New UI: From the more actions menu, select Lock.

  4. In the Lock Virtual Machine dialog box, enter CONFIRM.

  5. Select Submit to save the changes.

The virtual machine is now locked and cannot be deleted until it has been unlocked.

Unlock a host pool

Nerdio Manager allows you to remove resource locks on a virtual machine so that they can now be deleted if required.

To unlock a host pool resource:

  1. Navigate to Workspaces, and select the workspace you want to work with.

  2. Select the host pool you want to work with.

  3. Locate the session host you want to unlock, and select from the following:

    • Classic UI: From the action menu, select Unlock.

    • New UI: From the more actions menu, select Unlock.

  4. In the Unlock Virtual Machine dialog box, enter CONFIRM.

  5. Select Submit to save the changes.

The virtual machine is now unlocked and can be deleted if required. The padlock icon is no longer displayed on the UI.
