Nerdio Manager in Azure Government: What to know
Nerdio Manager for Enterprise can be deployed in an Azure Government tenant. Key considerations related to billing, features, and identity differ from Azure Commercial. This article outlines those differences and provides installation guidance.

Review the following billing considerations:
Billing cannot be set up directly in an Azure Government tenant.
An Azure Commercial tenant or a partner tenant is required for license activation.
Most features are identical between Azure Commercial and Azure Government. However, User Cost Attribution reports are not available due to missing APIs in Azure Government.
Review the following cross-cloud and identity linking considerations:
GCC is treated as Commercial, while GCC-High is treated as Azure US Government.
Linking between Azure Government and Azure Commercial is supported only through app credentials.
Nerdio Manager provisioned in Azure Government can manage Azure Commercial identity resources with few limitations.
Nerdio Manager provisioned in Azure Commercial cannot manage Azure Government AVD resources due to API differences.
Split-identity installations across Azure Government and Azure Commercial environments are not supported.
Install Nerdio Manager in Azure Government
Deploying Nerdio Manager in Azure Government is nearly identical to deploying it in Azure Commercial, except for Marketplace navigation
To install Nerdio Manager in Azure Government:
In the Azure portal, search for Marketplace.
Select the Marketplace blade, and then search for Nerdio Manager for Enterprise.
Complete the installation as described in Nerdio Manager Installation Guide.
Note: Billing and license activation must still be handled through either a commercial tenant or a partner tenant.
Activate billing and license
After deployment, link the Government tenant to a commercial billing object. You have the following options to do this:
Option 1: Use your organization’s commercial tenant.

Option 2: Work with a service provider that manages billing.
Tip: Your Nerdio Sales or Customer Success team can:
Assist with linking your Government tenant to a billing object in a supported commercial tenant.
Connect you with a partner if you don't have a commercial tenant.
Note: The billing Azure Commercial subscription receives only aggregated user counts and usage data for billing purposes. No personally identifiable information (PII) is transferred.
To activate the billing using a Commercial tenant:
In the Azure portal, log in to your Commercial tenant.
Navigate to Marketplace.

Search the Marketplace for Billing Subscription to Nerdio Manager Enterprise.

Select Billing Subscription to Nerdio Manager Enterprise.

Enter the following information:
Subscription: From the drop-down list, select the Government tenant subscription.
Plan: From the drop-down list, select the plan.
Once you have entered all the desired information, select Subscribe.
Summary
Nerdio Manager for Enterprise is supported in Azure Government.
Billing must be handled through a commercial tenant or a partner tenant.
User Cost Attribution is unavailable in Azure Government.
Identity is supported through app credentials only. Managed identity and split installs are not supported.
Management of Government AVD resources from Nerdio Manager in Azure Commercial is not supported, while the reverse is supported.
