Insights: Executive
The Executive Insights feature in Nerdio Manager provides a dedicated dashboard for the executive branch (C-suite) of an organization, showing key benefit-cost analysis metrics for the organization's Nerdio deployment as well as key high-level performance metrics.
Note: Measures of the benefits and cost savings offered by Nerdio Manager are based on a comparison with the projected costs of an equivalent AVD deployment run natively in Azure, subject to typical usage patterns and uptime, without Nerdio Manager's event-driven resource auto-scaling and optimization features. This comparison is based on a robust, data-driven analysis. Precise details of the models and assumptions used are available on request.
Configure Executive Insights
If the Executive Insights window displays a warning message, use the following procedure to remove the warning message.
To configure Executive Insights:
In Nerdio Manager, navigate to Settings > Environment, and select the Azure tab.
Expand the Azure Subscriptions tab.

For each subscription listed, do the following:
Edit the subscription.
Ensure that Enable cost management API read access is toggled On.
Select OK.
View Executive Insights
The following section discusses viewing Executive Insights.
In Nerdio Manager, navigate to Insights > Executive.

Optionally, apply filters:
Filter: Select a specific Azure subscription to display metrics for that subscription only, or leave the default Any value selected to view metrics for all subscriptions in your tenant.

Month: Select a calendar month from the dropdown to view metrics for that month. Defaults to the current month.
Note: All Executive insights are presented on a per-calendar month basis.

For each dashlet, you can take the following actions:
Export
: Select to download the corresponding report data. A dropdown appears allowing you to export to.csv, .pdf, or .png format.
Expand
: Select to view the dashlet full screen.
Refresh
: Select to refresh the data in the dashlet.
Info
: Select to review the tooltip.

Hover over: Hover over any location on the dashlet to view the details of that specific data point.
Note: If a red or yellow exclamation mark icon accompanied by a number
appears in the bottom right of the dashlet, this means there is an issue with the data displayed and it may be incomplete. Select the icon to view details of the issue and remediation steps.
The following Executive insights are available:
AVD Cost
This dashlet shows the daily aggregated costs of running your Nerdio-managed AVD deployment in your chosen subscription(s). Costs are displayed as a stacked line chart, broken down into the following categories:
Host pools
Storage
Images
Log Analytics.
The total aggregated cost for the selected calendar month is displayed at the top of the chart.
Projected Native Cost
This dashlet displays the actual daily costs of running your Nerdio-managed deployment in your chosen subscription(s), compared with the projected daily aggregated costs of running an equivalent AVD deployment directly in Azure, without Nerdio Manager's cost-saving features. The values are displayed as a stacked line chart, with the area between the two representing the costs saved as a result of using Nerdio Manager. The total projected native cost for the selected calendar month is displayed at the top of the chart.
Nerdio Manager Savings
This dashlet displays the daily cost savings achieved as a result of using using Nerdio Manager to manage your AVD deployment, in comparison with an equivalent Azure-native deployment. The total cost saving for the selected calendar month is displayed at the top of the chart.
Nerdio Manager ROI
This dashlet displays the daily Return on Investment (ROI) achieved as a result of using using Nerdio Manager to manage your AVD deployment, in comparison with an equivalent Azure-native deployment. The ROI value is calculated by dividing your net cost savings by licensing costs, and is displayed as a percentage. The aggregated ROI for the selected calendar month is displayed at the top of the chart.
Note: ROI is calculated as Net Savings / Nerdio Cost as follows, based on aggregate of costs and savings metrics:
- Nerdio Cost represents your total outlay on your Nerdio deployment, comprised of licensing costs and the costs of the Azure resources required to run Nerdio Manager.
- Gross Savings are calculated by subtracting the actual AVD Cost of running your environment from the Projected Native Cost of running an equivalent employment in Azure.
- Net Savings are calculated by subtracting Nerdio Cost from Gross Savings.
- Finally, Nerdio Manager ROI is calculated by dividing Net Savings by Nerdio Cost.
Average Login
This dashlet displays the average time taken (in seconds) for your users to log in to AVD across the selected calendar month.
Users
This dashlet displays the daily number of named, active, and concurrent AVD users across the selected calendar month.
Average Latency
This dashlet displays the average network latency (in milliseconds) for your deployment across the selected calendar month.
Connection Health
This dashlet displays the daily number of successful and failed connection attempts across the selected calendar month.
