Enable Scripted Sequences

Enable Scripted Sequences

Before you can use Scripted Sequences in Nerdio Manager, you first need to enable the feature. For direct deployment to AVD host pools, this is a simple matter of toggling a switch and specifying a storage account name. To run scripted sequences on Intune devices, you additionally need to provision the Intune integration with the necessary permissions.

Prerequisites

      Nerdio Manager subscription

The tasks in this procedure apply to the following Nerdio Manager subscription level(s):

AVD Core

True

AVD Premium

True

Windows 365

True*

Unified Endpoint Management

* Windows 365 deployment is supported via Intune device management only; direct deployment via Windows 365 provisioning policies is planned for a future release.

       System/environment requirements

Before you can deploy Scripted Sequences to Intune-enrolled devices, your tenant must meet the following prerequisites:

Role-based access control (RBAC) and permissions

Configuring the Scripted Sequences feature in Nerdio Manager requires the Admin role.

Enable Scripted Sequences in Nerdio Manager

To enable Scripted Sequences in your environment, provision the necessary permissions for the Intune integration (for deployment to Intune-enrolled devices only), and turn the feature on in the Settings page.

To allocate the necessary permissions to the Intune integration (not required for direct deployment to AVD host pools):

Important: The Intune integration should be configured to operate in Application context. The Scripted Sequences feature does not currently support User Operating Mode. See Limitations and known issues for details.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Integrations > Intune .

  2. Select the Configure option beside the Current status heading.

  3. In the Configurable Features section, ensure that Group membership and Intune Applications and App policies are set to Manage.

To enable the Scripted Sequences feature:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Environment.

  2. Select the Nerdio tab, and expand the Task automation tile.

  3. Beside the Current status heading, select Configure.

  4. Enter a name and select a resource group for the Azure storage account that Nerdio Manager will create to use with the feature, and select Save to complete the configuration.
