Thoughts on AVD for Azure Stack HCI?

I've had a few customers show interest in the technology, and for each of them, the use case was about getting the workstations closer to the backend application pieces. Some applications don't care where they are run, while others are very sensitive to latency. Some companies have the opportunity to move their application to Azure and having the workstations in AVD makes sense, but many times, it's a huge lift to get the application updated and moved so it's easier to get the workstations closer to it by using on-premises hardware  that's near or next to the application server(s).
