Cross Tenant/Subscription VM Migration Tool

This feature request would be a dedicated tool in Nerdio that would move a VM from one tenant or subscription to another. It would solve the problem customers face during M&As, acquisitions, anything that forces resources to be consolidated under a different tenant.

In current-state, Nerdio can import a VM from another tenant as an Image. Testing this with an 128gb disk the entire process took 45 minutes. Copying the OS disk to the new tenant, at least based off the logs, happened in 10 minutes. This in my experience is far faster than it would take to download the VHD manually, then AZ Copy it to the new tenant. It certainly requires less steps.

However, since this is built for images and not actually a VM migration tool the machine is sys prepped, tagged to be pulled into the images blade, and other things happen to it to prepare it to be used to build hostpools. This tool would eliminate any image specific actions.

I envision it would be a dedicated section in Nerdio where you can either do one, or multiple VM migrations. It would be in a list format where for each VM you have all the fields you have today on the “import from VM” page. You could input this information for multiple VMs simultaneously then have them moved in batches. This would save hours and hours of time for admins who are planning migrations.
