Host Pool Creation Methods API

There is a limitation of the API functionality right now in that Host Pool creation methods haven’t been updated to support changing the directory settings, so it will create using the default directory option set under the Settings > Integrations page in Nerdio Manager.

I’m creating a static host pool using the Nerdio API, which works just fine. But when I create it the default Active Directory connection is used. This isn’t normally an issue as I can change it to whatever I need it to be.

However, it is an issue when I want the pool to be Entra-joined as “Cannot switch between Entra ID and Local AD / Entra Domain Services or vice versa".

Hi Grimsey, Paul (Atos) - thanks for reporting this. I have asked the dev team to get this added to the API.

Regarding the directory selection issues - you may be experiencing a small UI bug I just identified - essentially, if you have a default profile set of a certain type (entra or AD), then you are unable to select profiles of the opposite type in your host pool settings, you will only be able to select profiles of the same 'type'.

Is this the issue you are seeing? If so, you can work around by temporarily  changing the default profile to a different 'type' in the settings>integrations menu. This will allow you to select custom profiles of the same type in the pool settings, you can then revert the default profile setting.

Hi Nerdio Support thank you. I know that dev are aware of this and hoping for a fix soon. The issue you describe is what we're seeing, however its not as easy as simply changing the default as that would only work if we were only creating one type, eg. Entra-joined. The reality is that we need both at least for a while. I use a Microsoft Form that kicks off a Power Automate Flow that uses the Nerdio APIs to create our pools. That Form is exposed to several people and I wouldn't know when its being used and which type was required at any given time.

Thanks Paul. Yes I see this would be problematic. I will raise the API extension with the team.
