Microsoft Entra ID joined session hosts creation fails if the auto-scale is set to reuse the names, resulting in the error: 'Another object with the same value for property hostnames already exists.'

We have started testing Microsoft Entra ID joined session hosts. We noticed that there is an issue with reusing the host names in autoscale, where the Entra ID join fails with the error message: 'Another object with the same value for property hostnames already exists.'

Is there any solution for this? I know that some other products add logic to delete the device from Microsoft Entra ID if a device with the same name exists. Is there a similar solution available in Nerdio Manager?

Here is the additional information about the issue. The Join Entra ID action also returns:

"AAD Join failed with status code: -2145648509. AzureSecureVMJoinOperation: DeviceEnroller::AzureSecureVMEnroll failed 0x801c0083. The hostname is already used by another device in this tenant, please change the VM name to redeploy the extension."

Yes, The solution is described in the following article. It requires making the configuration changes listed in the article:

AVD Intune Device Record Removal – Nerdio Manager for Enterprise

Basically, just follow the instructions to assign the required permissions and set the advanced App Service setting (Features:AvdHostEntraIdCleanup:True)
