Currently, under the "Upload MSIX app(s)/Package(s)" option in Nerdio App Attach Images section, we can only expand MSIX apps into a VHDX container using the temporary VM approach.
This request is to add CIM container support as well, since CIM FS is designed for faster mounting and unmounting compared to VHDX, making it ideal for quickly delivering applications in an AppAttach scenario.
- Microsoft recommends using CIM over VHDX for most AppAttach scenarios, especially when using Windows 11 session hosts.
- CIM format provides better performance and efficiency in application delivery.
While we do have an option to "Upload Image" with VHD(X)/CIM format, this request specifically focuses on enabling the conversion from MSIX to CIM natively within Nerdio instead of requiring external tools for conversion.
