Azure Capacity Extender Configuration - Revert to Original Size

Nerdio will automatically use the Capacity Extender to start the VM with an alternative SKU.

VM will continue running with this alternative SKU until the original SKU becomes available again. However, it will not automatically revert to the original size once the capacity issue is resolved. In other words, the VM will remain on the alternative SKU unless you manually resize it back to the original size once it's available again.

It would be important for the nerd to revert the virtual machines to the default pool size as soon as it is automatically shut down.

I gave it a thumbs up, we have the same problem. Maybe you can give me also one on the same subject:

Hi Gustavo, thank you for the submission!
We have captured this request and will investigate enhancing Azure Capacity Extender to support reverting back to the default VM size.

+1

Suggestion for a simple fix: If capacity extender is enabled, check on every startup whether the currently configured SKU matches the auto-scale profile. If not, try to revert to the preferred SKU. From there on, the existing logic can continue as is.
