HostPool Profile Configuration settings

Hi,

We are loving the new Profile settings as well as HostPool configuration settings.

Is there any way we can create Profiles of the complete configuration settings of the hostpools so we can use those as a template.

Currently I can see the only way to do it is click the drop down arrow for manage hosts → Apply to other hostpools.

We would ideally like to create a standard Personal Core configurations and Multisession Core Configurations template that we can apply to other hostpools instead of going into a certain hostpool and click on the drop down for manage hosts → Apply to other hostpools.

Hi Dave, thank you for the request. I agree that compartmentalizing the host pool configurations into one complete configuration state is valuable.

In line with your reasoning, would having “Containers” encompassing different profiles for a host pool that can be applied at scale be useful in your scenario?

Hi Raul,

Can you confirm what you mean by “containers”? Are you referring to creating a “containers” resource under profiles and save the settings there?

We have a massive Win 11 Migration coming up and the ideal scenario is we want to have the ability to create for eg: on Personal HostPool with all settings, save those configs as a core personal template and apply to what ever personal hostpool requires this, create one Multisession Hostpool and save those configs as a Core template and apply to all multisession hostpools.

We are using EntraID for the hosts and want to be able to apply settings to all new personal from the personal HOstPool config and all new settings from the mUltisession to the multisession hostpool config.

That way there is less room for error as currently we are no longer using GPO and instead a mixture of Intune and Nerdio.

More than happy to jump on a call to run through our scenario :-)

Hi Dave,
Thank you for explaining your use case!
We will investigate different avenues to achieve and facilitate this type of scenario - We'll capture this request.

In the meantime, you mentioned having used the Apply to other host pools option. This option is valuable because you can clone the host pool configuration to multiple host pools at once. However, you would need to have the host pools already created to apply the settings.
Another option which you may already be aware of, is the Clone Host Pool option, which will clone the host pool configuration to a “New” host pool. However, it is not scalable.

Thank you again for submitting the request!
