I was looking inside the Nerdio portal, and I could not see a way to put a machine(s) into drain mode. I think that being able to put a machine into drain mode, and leaving it in drain mode until all users are off the machine and the machine, restarts or shuts down.
The use case for this always seems to be around session errors where users sessions are stuck in a disconnected state. It would be nice to use the drain mode to have users log off the machine gracefully, in order to restart it and fix the stuck session, without the Auto Scale or the Azure Portal forcing the machine out of drain mode.
