UAM - Custom Detection Method - Rule disjunction or rule per version

Problem
Custom Detection Methods are related to a application and not to a version and can't be or-linked.

Description
If custom detection Method are used to detect an installed application, the information to be checked might change if a new Version is added. As sometimes not only one Version is used within an environment, today you need to have 2 different applications added to your unified catalogue, which blows up the size of the catalogue.

At the moment the custom detection Method can only be set for a whole application and not for a version and if you add more than one rule, they are and-linked.

Vision 1:

Custom Detection Methods are bound to a version and not to an application

Vision 2:
You can decide if you want to link the custom Detection Methods with an “and” or an “or”

Hi Thomas Baas , thanks for this suggestion. There are some technical challenges associated with implementing per-version detection, but I agree its a valuable addition. We already have a backlog card for this, but I will include your comments on the card. Thank you!

Hi Thomas Baas .

In scoping this feature, we plan to add the same custom detection script support as we have for shell apps. This offers complete flexibility, but also aligns with the existing approach.

We'll plan to add a toggle to switch between current control-based UI (which is not capable of detecting specific versions), and new script-based detection UI (the one we're using in shell apps). This seems like the simplest and most efficient way to resolve the request. Please let us know if you have any questions. I cant provide a target release at this point. Thanks.

Hi Toby Skerritt , is this feature still on the roadmap or was it already sorted out?

Hi Thomas Baas - thanks for your patience. This feature is still on the roadmap, however we have been focusing on our new scripted sequences feature to ensure this is production ready. I can't provide a timescale at this point, but its still included in the list of planned items.
