Remote app publishing for RBAC roles

My customers want/need to delegate application management to application teams, purpose is to delegate desktop image and hostpool ownership to specialized application teams of business applications. Currently remote app publishing is not assignable permission on hostpools which means they can grant either too much or too few permissions in order to fully delegate business application management without enabling also destroyment of hostpools.

Remote app publishing is needed as separate permission to be assigned.

Thanks this makes sense, I’ve logged this feature request for a new RBAC module for Remote Apps.

The idea is that if you have Workspaces: Manage Remote Apps, which enabled you to:

  • Create/Delete RemoteApps
  • Edit existing details
  • Enable or schedule maintenance

If the app teams are also responsible for managing desktop images (and I assume reimaging hosts as well), they would likely still need Workspaces: Manage hosts permissions for the reimage process.
