Managing Edge & WebView2 Updates with UAM

Hi guys,

I’m wondering how you are dealing with updates for Microsoft Edge and WebView2 when using Nerdio’s UAM feature.

We want to control the installed version using UAM and therefore we disabled Edge Autoupdate using GPO. But we ran into some issues.

From my testing:

• I tried to upgrade Edge using the public Winget repository. On my first try, Edge got uninstalled and UAM failed.
  On my second try, Edge was installed but did not show in appwiz.cpl
• Edge WebView fails with error 2147747858 which means that there is already a version of WebView installed. I also get this error if I try to upgrade it manually using Winget or the MicrosoftEdgeWebView2RuntimeInstallerX64.exe

Any idea? :)
