change the AAD group names & Intune platform script names which are auto-created by Nerdio UAM deployment policy by a naming convention (different prefix than INSTALL-GROUP- and INSTALL-SCRIPT-) chosen by the customer
Change AAD group names & Intune platform script names created by NME
Hi, thank you for submitting this as a feature request! We believe we have a partial solution already available, which is explained in detail on our Advanced App Service configurations page.
For AAD group names: You can customize the naming convention using the Features:Naming:UamIntuneGroupNameTemplate setting in your Nerdio Manager App Service environment variables. This allows you to define custom naming conventions using variables like %POLICYNAME%, %TIMESTAMP%, %RAND4%, and %NUM4% instead of the default INSTALL-GROUP- prefix.
To implement:
- Navigate to your App Service in Azure portal:
nmw-app-xxxxxxxxxx > Settings > Environment variables - Add the setting
Features:Naming:UamIntuneGroupNameTemplate - Configure your preferred naming template using the available variables
- Apply the changes (the App Service will automatically restart)
For Intune platform script names: At this moment, we don't have a configuration option available for customizing the INSTALL-SCRIPT- prefix. We will look into the roadmap and add this as a feature request for one of the future iterations of NME.

Does this solve your use case for the AAD group naming portion? Please let us know if you need any additional assistance with the implementation.
Hello Stefan,
thanks for the feedback.
You are correct, weird that I overlooked this in the online Nerdio documentation: https://nmehelp.getnerdio.com/hc/en-us/articles/26124344709517-Configure-Nerdio-Manager-for-Unified-Application-Management#Intune-group-management-customized-group-names (unless it is added recently).
Anyways, it indeed solved the naming of the AAD group, it would also be great if Nerdio would also allow to have customized Intune platform script names in the future.
thanks.
