Ability to deploy Real-Time Insights to hosts outside of RTI configuration settings

Problem - Real-time Insights enablement does not scale well with adding host pools and does not provide the flexibility to enable on hosts in batches for change process reasons. It's all or nothing on a host pool.

Description - We are looking to see if there is a way to deploy the Real-Time Insights PowerShell script setup OUTSIDE of RTI enablement. We would like more granular control of it's deployment and roll-out than what RTI configuration provides.

Vision - We would like the ability to deploy RTI to our systems in a controlled roll-out type manner. Ideally this would be through Shell Apps or Intune although Scripted Action would also work

Hello, exactly, when session host is created RTI installation/activation should be one of a task done during session host creation/configuration. Nowadays I see for example 12 hour gap between session host creation and RTI installation.

Having this as ShellApp or scripted action is something I would also like to see.

Best regards

Hi DeWayne and Marek

We are indeed looking to make RTI worker deployment a better experience. We are looking to allow it to be deployed to individual hosts or Intune endpoints, rather than all or nothing with Host pools and deployment policies.

Deployment using differing methods within NME, like Shell apps or Scripted actions is also on the roadmap, but we have to look at how we audit these deployment for licensing reasons.

Thank you for the suggestion.

Hi Marek

To your specific point around deployment times of around 12 hours for Intune devices; We are still beholden to the deployment task execution of Intune. For AVD hosts we can directly deploy the worker script, using a method similar to scripted actions. However for Windows 365 and other Intune connected endpoints, we create a policy and deploy via Intune, which can take a long time to execute.

Thank you

Hi Dave Grain

My point is about AVD session host, im my opinion RTI installation should be done during host deployment.

Best regards

If we could make it a host deployment task similar to AMA or FsLogix (as Marek stated), where we have the ability to add/update VM deployment and deploy to existing hosts, that would also work for us.

Perfect world, this would be a shell app or similar app deploy so we have complete control but the above is acceptable as well.

Dave Grain sorry forgot to tag you in the last response.
